Department of Environment, Science Technology & Climate Change, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh has created this website to facilitate the people of Himachal Pradesh for submitting challans through online system. Since there is complete ban effective on Single Use Plastic in the State of Himachal Pradesh, therefore to monitor and check the effectiveness of ban and to punish the offenders for violations in the State for using and littering of SUP challans are imposed under the H.P. Non-Biodegradable garbage (Control) Act, 1995. There are various notifications issued under the H.P. Non-Biodegradable garbage (Control) Act, 1995 for banning the SUP in the State. All notifications are available on the website of Department of Environment, Science Technology & Climate Change, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. This website allows the designated officers to report and citizens to pay fines for single-use plastic violations through online mode.

The Government of Himachal Pradesh enacted Himachal Pradesh Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, in the year 1995, to deal with the menace of plastic and other non bio degradable material. Non bio degradable material means the material which cannot be decomposed or degraded by action of micro- organisms, sunlight or other natural actions and includes goods made or manufactured from Polythene, nylon or other plastic substances.
Single Use Plastic items including carry bags, thermocol items made of non-biodegradable material appended to H.P. Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1995 are as below:

12 Stirrers
13 Non-woven plastic carry bags less than 80 GSM

Under Section 7-A of H.P. Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1995 various officers/ officials of various Departments/ Boards/ Corporations of Government of Himachal Pradesh are authorized for entry and inspection in the premises and compounding of banned SUPs. The detail of quantity of prohibited items being seized and compounding amount is as below:-
