Banned Items of Single Use Plastic in Himachal Pradesh
  • Use and sale of plastic carry bags irrespective of size and thickness.
  • Use and sale of plastic items having one-time use such as disposable plastic cups, glasses, and plates made up of non-biodegradable material as listed in the Schedule to the H.P. Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1995.
  • Use and sale of one-time use "Plastic cutlery" for serving and consuming food such as spoons, bowls, katoris, stirring sticks, forks, knives, straws made of plastic and other cutlery items made of plastic/manufactured from the material as listed in the Schedule to the H.P. Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1995.
  • Non-woven carry bags of size less than sixty 80 GSM.
  • Single Use Plastic items including carry bags, thermocol items made of non-biodegradable material as listed in the Schedule appended to H.P. Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1995:
    • Plastic Carry bags (irrespective of sizes and thickness)
    • Plates, cups, glasses (Plastic & Thermocol both)
    • Cutlery such as forks, spoons, bowls, katoris, knives, straws, trays, and any other cutlery items (Plastic & Thermocol both)
    • Ear buds with plastic sticks
    • Plastic sticks for balloons
    • Plastic flags
    • Candy sticks
    • Ice-cream sticks
    • Polythene (thermocol) for decoration
    • Wrapping or packing films around sweet boxes, invitation cards, and cigarette packets
    • Plastic or PVC banners less than 100 micron
    • Stirrers
    • Non-woven plastic carry bags less than 80 GSM
